Useful before essays and comment sections. Let them apply it to a model and to a textbook. You are not the judge of which definition is holy — they must show the switch.

- If the conclusion rides on the word, the word is the load-bearing beam. Check the beam.

The student can catch a term that changes meaning mid-argument and refuse the switch.
The silent slide
A term starts as a description and ends as a verdict. 'Violence,' 'science,' 'harm,' 'data' — mid-paragraph they slide. The slide is the argument. Write: sense 1, sense 2, where the sentence jumped. Fluent systems are good at the jump because they optimize for local smoothness, not for a stable term. Your job is to freeze the term long enough to see whether anything was proved.
