Lessons work with no AI. Hermes is optional: a profile you run on your computer, for one age group, beside the printed lesson. It does not make AI safe. You may skip it.
Setup, from your adult profile

What each age may use
5–10 · Little Thinkers
One step. A short story. Ask a Grown-Up. Conversation only. Do not clone an adult profile.
Conversation only. Hint, then stop. No homework answers. No names, photos, or school. If it feels confusing or unkind, ask a grown-up.
11–14 · Young Minds
Hint, then example. Talk About It. Chat. Optional local voice-to-text. Optional image understanding.

15–18 · Emerging Adults

Adult · Lifelong Learners
The adult profile is yours. Child profiles are separate. Design, approve, test with fake examples, then invite the child.
You are the operator. Give the child a new, simpler profile for their age — or no profile. Do not copy yours. Official Hermes docs win if a command is out of date.

Inspect the guide first
Before you pair a Hermes profile with your child, read a synthetic demo. These transcripts show exactly what the guide does — and does not do — across the full sitting arc. No real child data.
Pairing rules
Name only the lesson or booklet title in USER.md. Do not paste the PDF. Do not dump the library into memory.
Tutor, not calculator. Warm, not a friend. Talk to a trusted adult — not transcript surveillance.
A Hermes profile is not an OS sandbox. Review credentials, spend, messaging, independent access.
Official Hermes docs win if a command goes stale.
