House Words, House Meanings

Children will take 'fair' and 'cheating' to a model if the house never says what those words mean here.

Parent briefing · 5 minutes, before they sit

Fair, cheating, always, respect. Your mouth is the dictionary they actually have. If you only define the word when you are angry, it becomes a weapon.

Hard edges

  • Do not use the definition as a gotcha.
  • Apply it to your own sentence first.

If they say

“They'll think I'm lecturing.”
One calm sentence is not a lecture. A fluent tool defining your kitchen is the lecture.

Objective

The adult writes one house definition for a contested family word and uses it once in front of the child.

The kitchen dictionary

A model will define 'fair' in a paragraph that sounds finished. It does not know who left the shoes. A house that never writes the meaning will import the most fluent paragraph in the room. Write one sentence. Use it when you are calm. WisdomForge can print the prompt. Only you can make the word mean something at this table.

Big idea

Undefined house words get defined by whoever speaks most smoothly.

Try this~10 min total

One house sentence

10 min
  1. Pick fair, cheat, share, or always.
  2. Write IN THIS HOUSE it means ____.
  3. Use it once today on something you said.
  4. Put it on the family rule card.

Lesson guide

Ask after you try

Optional. You define first.

  1. You, not the child, ask the guide for other meanings — then keep the house one.
  2. Did you write it before the tool?
  3. Is it actually spoken?
