The adult reads one amendment with the child. The 13th, 14th, 19th, or 26th. The adult names the gap it closed: 'The 13th amendment ended slavery. Slavery was in the original design. The amendment changed the design.' The child who hears an adult connect the amendment to the gap learns that the republic is a practice. The child who only hears the original Constitution learns it is a relic. The amendment is the proof that the republic is alive. Read it. Name the gap. The reading is the inheritance.
