The Refresh Hour
Usable mathematics is ordinary adult work: a number on a line, a unit price on a shelf, a percent on a dashboard, a short reason for a measurement. A working adult who is not a mathematician can run that hour on a train, at a desk, on a shift — if “of means multiply” is heard as a keyword grab, not a schema, and a calculator output is not allowed to pass as sense.
