The Math Hour
The math hour at the table is the whole program: a ratio table or a number line that runs both ways, a question worth waiting for, an equation they write and check. A parent who is not a mathematician can run that hour for eleven-to-fourteen — fractions as numbers, ratio, signed numbers, expressions, equations — if cross-multiply with no table is heard as a missing-meaning move, not a cute slip.
