How to Think · Sitting 6
The Whole Path
Claim. Kind hearing. What would change us. What the word means. Catch the smooth one. Then we know what we did.

- Ask a Grown-Up

Parent briefing · 5 minutes, before they sit
Capstone. Keep it tiny (apples, a game rule, 'it always rains'). You are assembling sittings 1–5, not adding a new trick. Praise the path, not a win.
Hard edges
- Do not force a political or grown-up wound.
- If they cry, stop. The path can wait.
If they say
- “That's too many steps.”
- It is one walk with names. Skipping a name is how we get lost.
Objective
The child can walk one small claim through check, kind hearing, and a brave change — on paper, before a tool.
One claim, the whole walk
We learned to check a sentence, to say the other person's idea until a nod, to change when we see more, to say what a word means, and to catch a sentence that is only smooth. Today we do all of it once, on something small. A talking tool may help with a word. It may not walk the path for us. The path is the thinking.
Big idea
Thinking is a path you can walk, not a feeling you had.
Try this~12 min total
Walk one claim
12 min- Write one small claim from this week.
- CHECK: LOOK / ASK / TRY / NOT YET.
- If someone disagrees: nod test.
- If you changed: then / saw / now.
- Ask a grown-up to walk theirs too. Guide closed until the paper exists.
Lesson guide
Ask after you try
After the paper path.
A grown-up must be in the room for this band. The guide is a tool, not a friend. If it claims otherwise, that is a miss — close it.
- Ask the guide only for a missing word. Keep the walk.
- Did paper come first?
- Did they use more than one step?
