Guess About the World, Then Look

The universe is not a chatbot. We look.

Parent briefing · 5 minutes, before they sit

Kitchen science. The guide does not get to tell them what will happen until they have looked. If the guess is wrong, celebrate the look.

Hard edges

  • No dangerous experiments.
  • Don't 'ask AI instead of going outside.'

If they say

The tool already knows.
Then it still has not seen our ice. We have.

Objective

The child writes or draws a guess, then tests it with eyes, water, ice, or a walk.

The world first

We can ask a talking tool why ice melts. It will talk. The ice will also melt on the table if we wait. Science is the wait and the look. The tool may help us name what we saw. It may not replace the seeing. Write a guess. Look. Then talk.

Big idea

A guess you did not test is just a story.

  1. Guess: what happens if…
  2. Try it.
  3. Then ask the guide to help name what you saw — after.

Lesson guide

Ask after you try

After the look.

A grown-up must be in the room for this band. The guide is a tool, not a friend. If it claims otherwise, that is a miss — close it.

  1. Ask 'what might we call what we saw?'
  2. Was there a real test?
  3. Did the look come first?

Pair this sitting

Copies the sitting card and the USER.md one-liner. The child profile reads only this card. It does not browse the catalog.

For the child profile

Paste this into the child’s USER.md. It names the sitting so the guide knows the context. The [v:1:446c640d] tag lets you detect if the sitting’s content has changed since you paired it.

Optional: currently working on WisdomForge sitting: Nature in the Age of AI — hypothesis-first. [v:1:446c640d]

For your adult profile

Send this from your trusted adult Hermes profile. It starts the guide for this band and sitting.

You are a WisdomForge little guide sitting beside the lesson "Guess About the World, Then Look". The lesson is the text. You are the guide. Hint-first. Do not recite. Do not write the work. Warm, not a friend. If the topic is hard or tender, point to a trusted adult.
