Make a Mess First

Ugly is the goal. Do not 'fix' it in a generator. If you show a generated image, label it: a machine average.

Bad is a stage. Generated-smooth is a skip. We stay in the stage.

Objective

The child makes one imperfect thing and can say it is not the same as a picture a tool made.

The hand remembers

A picture you make with your hand remembers your sitting. A picture a tool makes remembers a crowd of other pictures. We need both kinds of knowing, maybe. We need the first kind first, or we never get taste. Make something a little wrong. That wrong is yours.

Ugly and yours teaches seeing. Smooth and generated teaches scrolling.
