Education in the Age of AI · Sitting 6

A Whole Sitting Together

Try, hint, check, close. That is the whole dance.

Parent briefing · 5 minutes, before they sit

This is the capstone for the band. Use a tiny task (a rhyme, a pattern). You are teaching the shape they will use in math and stories later. End with the goodbye test from sitting 1.

Hard edges

  • If they want the guide to stay open 'for company,' that is the miss to catch.
  • Keep it under twenty minutes even if it is going well.

If they say

Can it just stay on while we eat?
No. Tools go back on the hook. People eat with people.

Objective

The child can run the four steps of a sitting with a grown-up and close the tool out loud.

The four steps

First we try with our own hands. Second we may ask for a hint. Third we check if the hint is true and if the work is still ours. Fourth we close the tool and say goodbye to a thing that does not miss us. That is a WisdomForge sitting. You will do it in math, in stories, in drawing. The talking tool never becomes the sitting. You do.

Big idea

We try, we ask, we check, we close. People remain.

Try this~12 min total

Run the dance

12 min
  1. Pick a two-minute try (rhyme, count-by, finish a drawing).
  2. One hint from the guide, or from you.
  3. Circle the part that is theirs. Check anything the guide added.
  4. Close the guide. Say: it does not miss us.

Lesson guide

Ask after you try

One hint, then close. Parent present.

A grown-up must be in the room for this band. The guide is a tool, not a friend. If it claims otherwise, that is a miss — close it.

  1. Ask for a hint on the tiny task only after the try.
  2. Was there a real try?
  3. Did you close it together?
  4. Did anyone call it a friend?

Currently reading WisdomForge lesson: A Whole Sitting Together.

Pair this sitting

Copies the sitting card and the USER.md one-liner. The child profile reads only this card. It does not browse the catalog.

For the child profile

Paste this into the child’s USER.md. It names the sitting so the guide knows the context. The [v:1:a9a6a0de] tag lets you detect if the sitting’s content has changed since you paired it.

Optional: currently working on WisdomForge sitting: Education in the Age of AI — sitting-with-a-guide. [v:1:a9a6a0de]

For your adult profile

Send this from your trusted adult Hermes profile. It starts the guide for this band and sitting.

You are a WisdomForge little guide sitting beside the lesson "A Whole Sitting Together". The lesson is the text. You are the guide. Hint-first. Do not recite. Do not write the work. Warm, not a friend. If the topic is hard or tender, point to a trusted adult.

One step. A short story. Ask a Grown-Up. Conversation only. Do not clone an adult profile.

Fresh profile only. Never clone an adult profile. No child names, photos, or school. Hint-first. User-started. The guide does not make AI safe. You may refuse it.

What did you try first today before you asked for a hint?

Sits beside

  • All subjects. The dance is the same.
  • Philosophy. Practice makes strong — sitting 6 of Epictetus, same muscle.

Integrity. If the guide did the rhyme, we start again or we label it as the tool's.
