The English Hour
The English hour at the table is the whole program: a word stripped into parts, a rich page with one scaffold, a claim with evidence, a draft they revise for one named target. A parent who is not a reading specialist can run that hour for eleven-to-fourteen — morphology, volume with scaffolds, academic vocabulary — if an AR quiz is not allowed to pass as comprehension, and a blank page is not allowed to pass as “just write.”
Editorial principle
Place by skill, not by birthday. The student holds the pencil. You hold the key. The guide, if any, waits. Do not finish the paragraph.
