English for the Dyslexic

The English Hour (Structured Literacy)

A teaching manual for English with a child who finds word reading and spelling unexpectedly hard. It does not diagnose. It teaches a parent of grades 1–12 how to run Structured Literacy intensity: clear teaching, a planned sequence, daily review, and tomorrow’s lesson shaped by today’s errors — if colored overlays, a leveled ladder, and “just read more” are not allowed to pass as the intervention.

Editorial principle

Place by skill, not by birthday. Age does not retire decoding. Short sharp sits. The child holds the pencil. You hold the key. The guide, if any, waits.
